Frequently Asked Questions:
Can my very small 2nd (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th) grader play on your flag teams?
No. The ICFL is a grade based program designed for peers of athletes to play and grow together. It is not appropriate to have a "small" older student play down against Kindergarten or 1st graders. Older students processes of thinking and play are quite different than that of a K-1st grader. If you do sign your child up for a team they are not qualified for, Phuture Phantoms will have to move your athlete to a tackle team if there is space to accommodate. A registration fee maybe assessed at that time.
Do flag and cheer travel as well?
Yes! Please remember that due to scheduling, not all away games are at the same opponent on the same day.
Can my Kindergarten cheerleader cheer for her 6th grade sibling?
No. Although cheer is broken down differently every year due to how many coaches and athletes we have per season, because of developmental differences in strength and reason we try not to have cheer athletes more that one grade apart on any given team.
Why can only Coaches and Board Members park within the practice field gate?
There are a few reasons for this.
1. The wording in our district contract says Coaches and Board Members. We try to be good stewards of district property by picking up our trash after games and practice fields, and by also staying compliant with our district contracts.
2. The practice field inside space is smaller than it looks! On any given day we could have 3 flag teams and 5 tackle teams on the practice field. Plus, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles. There is too much going on.
3. There are times where flag teams will not know that tackle teams will be at the field on one of their practice nights (and vice versa) If that happens and spots are filled by parents, our coaches and other board members will have to take the time to do due diligence by kicking parents out. To minimize these types of run ins with our families, we have a blanket "no parents may park within the gate rule".
4. Our equipment shed is in operation and open during practice times. Our shed is across the parking lot at the narrowest portion of the parking lot. It creates too big of a bottle neck.
***If you have a disability with a handicap marker for your car, please email [email protected] to get access to closer parking.
Is the Phuture Phantoms Youth Sports Organization part of PASD?
No. The State of PA does not sanction public school sports until 7th grade where PIAA is the established governing body. Phuture Phantoms is a 501c3 Nonprofit youth sports organization that operates in the 19460 community. 99% of our families attend a PASD school. Our organization is designed to work closely with the School District to create a seamless transition to Middle School sports.
